Regional Business and Jobs Recruitment

The Puyallup Sumner Chamber recently participated in a regional business recruitment event with the Tacoma Pierce County EDB.  Associated Materials Inc. is relocating one of their plants to Fife and bring 200 new jobs to Pierce County.
A big thank you to two of our ambassadors, Cathy Morris from Windermere Real Estate and Carol Hinman, a realtor with John L. Scott.  Not only did they welcome over 100 employees that arrived in coach buses, but they provided gifts and information to the guests, as well as Chamber business promotional materials and answered questions about moving to the area for their company's relocation project.

Huntington Learning Center Ribbon Cutting in Sunrise Village

The Chamber was proud to host a recent Ribbon Cutting ceremony for our member, Huntington Learning Center, located in Sunrise Village.  Owners, Jennifer and Toby Donovan, their family and staff were all present to explain the services Huntington provides as part of their learn programs.

Congratulations to Jennifer and Toby on your grand opening. We wish you much success in your new location.

Stephens Law Firm Hosts Successful Business After Hours

It's not surprising that our recent Business After Hours at the Stephens Law Firm was once again a huge success.  Board member, Rod Stephens, whose law practice includes a focus on employment law, has a history of hosting memorable events for our chamber members. This year's event included great prizes like Mariner memorabilia, tickets to games, and great gift baskets that our members enjoyed touring his new office in Linden Park off East Main in Puyallup.

A big thank you to Mr. Stephens for hosting a great event for members to conduct "business after hours" and for his ongoing support of our Chamber and it's mission to support our local business community. Rod also speaks at chamber business events to provide educational information about new employment legislation and practical impact on our members.

Leadership Institute Graduation

A big congratulations to the Chamber's Leadership Institute graduating class of 2017. There were some great representatives from our local businesses and organizations that participated in this year's program and we look forward to seeing their impact in our communities as they utilize their leadership skills and new network of influence.

A big thank you to Sen. Hans Zeiger for being our guest speaker at the 2017 Graduation ceremony and presenting the Graduation plaques.

The Chamber would also like to recognize our critical partnership with Pierce College for the Leadership Institute program and give heartfelt thanks to our facilitator, Marty Cavalluzzi, President of Pierce College Puyallup, for his dedication to the program.
